Orpha M. Savala

Orpha Savala (Dull) of Rockford, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, from a short illness with cancer.

She was born April 28, 1932, the daughter of Forest and Grace Dull. She married the love of her life Dominic Savala, on September 2, 1951, in St. Patrick Church, Rockford. Orpha was an avid gardener, volunteer and had a love for creating art through paint, jewelry making and pottery. Survivors include son, Dave Savala; grandchildren, Melissa Gilbertson and Ashley Gilbertson, her sisters (Viola, Barb, and Shirley), close family friend Marie Pumilia, and many nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers the family would recommend donations to charities closest to Orpha’s heart; Rockford Rescue Mission or Hospice House of Mercy in Cedar Rapids, IA.
