Otis G. Doughty, 85, of Rockford passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 in his home. Born September 22, 1928, in Alto Pass, Illinois, the son of Elmer and Mamie Doughty. Otis was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army. He retired from the former National Lock Co. He loved raising and training his many champion hunting beagles.
Survived by his wife, Luci; son, Tim (Janet) McMaster of Dandridge, TN; granddaughter, Jennifer of Ashville, NC; stepson, Philip (Denise) West of Rockford; step-grandsons, Andrew and Aaron West of Rockford and sister, Sadie Everett of Machesney Park. Predeceased by his parents, first wife, Elizabeth "Betty", brothers, Raymond and Bill and sister, Betty Mangrum.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 South Mulford Road. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Alto Pass Cemetery, Alto Pass, Illinois at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northern Illinois Hospice, 4215 Newburg Road or to the Alzheimer's Association, 1111 South Alpine Road, Suite 307.
