Otto D. Mills

Otto D. Mills, age 57, of Rockford, passed away on September 30, 2025, after fighting a long 7-year battle with interstitial lung disease.

Otto was born on March 18, 1968, in Rockford, IL, the son of James P. Mills and Brenda S. Babb. He graduated from Dakota High School and went on to work in his lifelong career as a welder by trade.

Otto ran on “Otto Time”… anyone who knew him understands Otto Time!

Otto enjoyed spending his time riding his Harley motorcycle, working in the machine shop, and fishing. Otto will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to honor Otto’s memory include his sister, Loretta (Rod) Lott and niece, Shawna Lott; 2 sons, Justin Mills and Jesse Miller; daughter, Mickenzie Mills; 2 grandchildren, Renley Mills and Dominic Miller; stepmother, Delores Dach Mills; lifelong friends, Mary Beth Mengelt and Donna Barraza; and his 2 beloved dogs, Baby Gurl and Molly. He is predeceased by his parents, James Mills and Brenda Runley and one brother, James L. Mills.

A Celebration of Otto’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18th at 2 Wheel Inn, 4433 Auburn St. Rockford, IL 61101.
