Patricia A. "Pat" Armstrong

Patricia A. Armstrong, 68, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 3 pm surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 8, 1947 in Rockford, Illinois, daughter to Gerald and Wanda (Wazycka) Cruthoff. Pat was married to Brian O. Armstrong on October 28, 1972. She was employed as a beautician for over 45 years. Pat will always be remembered for being a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a loving, humble woman who enjoyed sports, gardening, crafts, and cooking/baking for family and friends. She was a faithful member of of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Survived by her loving husband, Brian Armstrong; her children William Armstrong and Suzanne (Brian) Shimaitis; her granddaughters Teslyn Armstrong, Madison and Samantha Shimaitis; her brothers Robert (Sally) Cruthoff and James (Aee) Cruthoff; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Her lifelong dear friend Margie Hobbs. She is predeceased by her parents. Funeral Mass at 10 am, Tuesday, Oct. 13 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2400 Bell Ave. Inurnment at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial visitation from 5 to 7 pm Monday, Oct. 12 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home 3910 N. Rockton Ave. and at 9 to 9:45 am Tuesday, Oct. 13 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
