Patricia I. Berg, 68, passed away on November 2, 2025, in her hometown of Rockford, Illinois. She was born on March 16, 1957, daughter to Robert and Ilean (Lind) McNamara. A graduate of East High School’s class of 1975, and Lakeland Medical and Dental Academy in Minneapolis, Minnesota; Pat worked for several years at Brookside Clinic in Rockford and later worked for 16 years at Ambius Tropical Plant Company alongside her identical twin sister Michele. Pat retired from Ambius in 2015, taking a new position that became her greatest joy, being a grandmother to her seven grandchildren. She never missed a school or sports event; she adored pouring love and support into their lives. Not only was she devoted to her kids and grandkids, but she was also an avid gardener, and balanced the role of a dedicated farm wife alongside her beloved husband, Jeffrey Berg, whom she married on May 19, 1979. She loved living on the farm. Pat was an active, long-time member of Bethesda Covenant Church, where she found joy in participating in various ministries. Her commitment to her faith was a guiding light in her life, and she cherished her church family.
Pat was a proud survivor of metastatic melanoma cancer; she astonished everyone around her with her strength. After her diagnosis in 2020, she responded so well to treatment that she enjoyed nearly 4 years of “cancer free” PET scans, inspiring all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by those who loved her most, her husband of 46 years, Jeffrey; their children Leah (Matt) Carlson and Austin (Stephanie) Berg; beloved grandchildren Norah, Everett, and Quinn Carlson, Kailey, Ella, Mackenzie and Tate Berg; siblings John (Diane) McNamara, Monica (Vince) Kelso, and Michele (Brad) Ticknor, and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Bob and Ilean, as well as her sister-in-law Sandra Berg.
