Patricia "Pat" A. Kane, 89, of Rockford, passed away on November 1, 2025. She was born on November 7, 1935, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the daughter of Llewellyn H. and Florence A. (Murray) Newell. She married the love of her life, George A. Kane on August 24, 1968 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, who she met at a Dominic Catholic Singles Valentine Party. George passed away June 25, 2007, and now she will be joining him in heaven where they will be happily reunited forever!
Pat was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church, Blackhawk Trails Club, where there was a hike every Sunday and also a member of the Bowling Club within the Blackhawk Trails Club along with her husband. She was secretary and treasurer of the Blackhawk Trails Club for many years. She was employed at Ingersoll Milling machine Company for 19 years as an executive secretary and also bowled with the Ingersoll Bowling team for many years. She later worked for Sundstrand Machine Tool for 23 years as an administrative secretary, and after taking early retirement, she filled in as a temporary secretary for two years in one assignment and also many short term assignments which she enjoyed. She also enjoyed downhill skiing in her younger years and went on many weekend skiing bus trips with her brother when she was single. Pat and George enjoyed "old time music" and attended many weekend polkafest dances in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa over the years. Their favorite band was "The Greg Anderson Band" of Monroe, WI, and many weekends they attended all three of his dances and many New Years Eve dances.
After her husbands passing, she made mamy widow friends, most of whom she met at a grief support group and they played cards once a week.
She is survived by her niece, Rosie Harlan and her son, Jason; special niece, Jane Kulberg (also George's Godchild) and her kids, Dylan, Luke, and Jacqueline; many other special nieces and nephews; brothers and sisters in law, Grace Weisner, Catherine Roshell, Martha Richards, and Patrick Kane; special friends, Jess and Lynn Lawrence, who were like family to her and who did many things to help her stay in her home; and special friends, Jeff and Cathy Slothower and their children who also made her feel like family to them.
She is predeceased by her parents, Llewellyn and Florence; sister, Winifred (Bruce) Harlan; brother, Norvin Newell; in-laws, Margaret and Leo Kane; numerous nieces and nephews on the Harlan side; and numerous brothers and sisters in law on the Kane side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Dr, Rockford, IL 61109, with a visitation prior to Mass starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Rita Catholic Church.
