Patricia J. Lunquist

Patricia Jean Lunquist, 83, of Rockford, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026. Born to Glenn and Dorothy (Tropp) Anderson in Rockford, IL, on May 27th of 1942. She married Donald Lunquist in Rockford on February 10, 1962, and they raised three children together. Pat was a faithful woman who was active in church, being a member of Alpine Lutheran for several years. She extended her volunteer work to the school when her children were younger and was even a volunteer at Rockford Memorial Hospital. She had an eye for beauty and excelled in interior and exterior decoration. A collector and appreciator of art in general. She was known for having the most beautiful lawn in the neighborhood, dedicating hours of time and patience to her gardening. Pat never stayed in just one spot, she took the many opportunities she had to travel the world with Don, visiting Japan, Greece, Central America, and of course, Sweden; as she was very proud of her Swedish American heritage. Two absolute favorite places of hers were Oshkosh, WI and Sanibel Island, FL, where she and Don owned vacation condos. As much as she enjoyed the beach, she would always prefer to be cruising on a boat, and she had many over the years. Pat enjoyed being social, often going for lunch with friends, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a lover of nature and animals, always having a cat throughout her life. But what she loved more than anything was spending time and being involved with her grandchildren.

She is survived and will be missed by her loving husband, Donald; children, Heidi Lunquist, Jon (Chelsea) Lunquist; grandchildren, Jessica Trobaugh, Dustin Mann, Wyatt Mann, Andrew Lunquist; great-grandchildren, AJ Trobaugh, Izzy Trobaugh; sister, Lori Peterson; and a special thank you to family members Todd and Susan Mann. She is predeceased by her parents; daughter, Jodi Lunquist Mann; grandson-in-law, David Trobaugh; and brother-in-law, Ted Peterson.

A Memorial Service for Pat will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel. A visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Internment at Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the family.
