Paul M. J. Chojnicki

Rockford- Paul M. J. Chojnicki passed away peacefully on January 3, 2009 at the age of 87. Paul was born on November 21, 1921 and was a lifetime Rockford resident. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Paul also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He worked for 30 years at Barber-Coleman and retired from Warner-Lambert. Paul married Alice Peter on June 26, 1943.  He was a Naval veteran having served in the Pacific theatre in World War II. Paul was member of Rockford Masons Lodge, the travelling Moose Club, and a Charter Member of Rockford VFW Post. Paul is survived by his wife Alice, and their children: Paul (Pam) Chojnicki of Effingham; Roger Chojnicki (deceased Jan (Larry) Wright of Oregon, Ill.; John (Bonnie) Chojnicki, of Minooka; Nancy (Mike) Mangiaracina of Batavia; and Sandy (Don) Romoser, Ridgefield, Conn. Grandchildren are Eric (Julie) Chojnicki, Chad (Tracy) Chojnicki and Amanda Chojnicki of Effingham; Kirsten Chojnicki of Phoenix, Ariz.; Christopher (Lindsay) Chojnicki of Joliet; Kara (Ben) Fouke of Rockford; Nicholas and Kelsey Mangiaracina of Batavia; and Paige and William Romoser, Ridgefield, Conn. They have two great- grandchildren: Thomas Robert Chojnicki and Lucas Jon Fouke. He was preceded in death by his son, Roger. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. William Richard Kerr, Sr. officiating.  Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Visiting Nurses Association, 4223 E.
