Rebecca S. McElhaney

Rebecca S. McElhaney, 72, of Rockford, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024. She was born on November 14, 1951, in Menomonie, WI, the daughter of Lawrence E. and Helen M. (Hansen) Ingalls. Rebecca married her loving husband, James “Jim” McElhaney on October 12, 2012, in Glenview, IL. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was adept at tracing her family history, genealogy being her passion. Rebecca was a loving grandmother, mother, sister, and wife.

She was survived by her husband, Jim; her mother, Helen Ingalls; her son, Edward Otterness; her two daughters, Kristine Otterness, and Melanie Otterness; her brother, Steven Ingalls; and her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her father, Lawrence.
