Richard "Dick" Nelson

Richard “Dick” Nelson, 72, of Rockford, passed away April 28, 2018 in Durand at Medina Manor Nursing Home. Born July 9, 1945 in Rockford; he was the son of Helge and Harriet (Ramsby) Nelson. He married Rosalie Giacomazzo-Bufalo on June 28, 1995 in Rockford.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Dick attended East High School and retired from Ingersoll Machine Tools Inc. after more than 20 years of employment.
Survivors include his wife, Rosalie Nelson; children, Jeffrey (Beth) Nelson and Elisa (Richard) Laumb; step-daughter, Jodi Carey; sisters, Joan Niehaus and Peggy Lineman; brothers, Jack (Connie) Nelson and Tom (Jan) Nelson; grandchildren, Quinton Liebl, Anabeth Black and Summer Nelson; step-grandson, Alex Carey; great-grandchildren, Grace and Klay Black and Kelbi Liebl; a special life-long friend, Milt Aaby.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helge and Harriet “Ginger” Nelson.
