Richard E. Huston

Richard E. Huston, 90, of Rockford, a proud Airforce veteran and a beloved member of the Rockford community, passed away on April 13, 2024, in his hometown. He was born on September 11, 1933, to Ervin and Helen (Kirkum) Huston. He married Frances (Brown) Huston on October 22, 1955, in Rockford. 
 
Richard's love for golfing, fishing, watching the Cubs play, and spending quality time with his loved ones defined him beyond his military service. He was a dedicated husband to Frances Huston, a loving father to Daniel and Doug (Laura) Huston, and a cherished grandfather to his granddaughters, Ashleigh (Jake) Castanza, Amber Huston (Chris), Hailey Weiss, and Kim (Josh) Usry; and to his great grandchildren, Brayden, Brinley, and Arsenio. His family meant the world to him, and he took great joy in creating lasting memories with them.
 
In the hearts of those who survive him are Richard's brothers, John Huston, Mike Huston; his brother-in-law Bobby Chance; as well as other extended family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity. He is preceded in death by his brother, Tom Huston; his sister Barbara Chance; and his grandson, Kyle.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27th, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 200 N. 1^st Street, Rockford IL, 61107.
