Richard S. Paris

Richard S. Paris, 86, of Rockford passed away March 9, 2017 at Presence St Ann Center. Born November 29, 1930, in Rockford, the son of Sam and Mary (Sartino) Paris. Richard attended Marquette University and later Rockford University. Married his junior high school sweetheart, Sally J. Corey in Rockford on November 24, 1951 at Saint Anthony's Church. Richard served in the US State Air Force. He was owner of Paris Auto Shop from 1951 until retiring in 1998 after 47 years. Following retirement was a courier for Amcore Bank for four years. Richard taught auto body at Rockford vocational center. Member of Saint Anthony's Padua Church and a life member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree. He enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
Survivors include children Kathleen “Kate” Staaf, Richard S. Paris, Jr, Michael a. (Cheryl) Paris, Anthony S. “Nino” Paris, and Cynthia (Andrew) Limberg. Grandchildren Jacob Taylor, Matthew (Theresa) Staaf, Bryan (Bridget) McWilliams, Gary (Tavia) Paris, Jessica Gary, Jillian DeZarn, Jenna Robinson, Nina Paris, Danielle (fiancée Alex Blondin) Limberg and Lucas Limberg; Great grandchildren Jonathan Vanderwall, Ethan Staaf, Giuliana Paris, Gianni Paris, Genevieve Paris, Tristan McWilliams, Addison McWilliams, Kirsten McWilliams, Julia Gary, Miles Gary; sister Mariann (Jasper) DiBenedetto, numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend Maryann Snider. Predeceased by parents, wife Sally, and great-granddaughter Courtney.
Funeral mass will 10 am Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Saint Anthony's Padua Church. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation from 9 a.m. until time of mass at church. Memorials to the family.
