Rick R. Field, 68, Loves Park, passed away Friday, May 16, 2014. He was born September 5, 1945, in Rockford, the son of Robert and Ruth Field. He was a Navy veteran serving in Viet Nam. Rick worked as a sales representative for Norros Corporation. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church where he served as an usher and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid golfer. His special friend, Andy, had built a boat that they both enjoyed spending time on. Rick was a longtime member of the Venetian Club. Rick espcially enjoyed traveling with his special friend, Pam. Rick's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Rockford Memorial Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
Survived by his son, Christofer of Rockford; his sister, Sandra (Bud) Green of Loves Park; his brother-in-law, Gene Kolenda; several nieces and nephews including Kelly(Larry) Williams, Cathy Kolenda, Tim (Rhonda) Green, Todd (Brenda) Green, Jeff (Sue) Green, and Brian Kolenda; several cousins; his very special angel, Pam Engelking and his lifelong friend, Andy Schavland. Predeceased by his parents; his brother, Robert "Bobby" Field, his sister, Jacqueline Kolenda; and his nephew, Terry Kolenda.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. Rockford, 61103. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until time of service on Tuesday. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services.
