Robert Joseph Highland

Robert ""Bob"" Joseph Highland, 61, of Rockford, passed away at 12:50 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2007 after a long illness. Bob was born on March 18, 1945, the son of William and Dorothy (Bouray) Highland. Bob retired from the U.S. Postal Service in December 1998 after 31 years of service. He was an avid Cubs and Bears Fan and loved to go fishing whenever his health permitted. Survivors include his son, Thomas Highland; brothers, Harry (Pam) Highland and Don (Sandi) Highland; sisters, Mary (Carl) Cacciatore, Marlene Highland and Janet (Brad) Trent; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by his parents and maternal and paternal grandparents and an infant brother, Phillip. A very special thank you to Dr. John Dorsey and Dr. Mark Zarnke for all theirs years of care giving. Also a sincere thank you to the nurses and aides at River Bluff Nursing home, Unit E. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2007 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Monsignor Thomas E. Bales officiating. Burial in St. Marys Cemetery in Durand, IL. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the church. To
