Robert R Lewerenz

Robert R. Lewerenz, 77, of Belvidere, passed away Aug. 21, 2016 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born December 5, 1938 in Chicago, the son of Frederick & Geraldine (Johnson) Lewerenz. Served in the US Marines Corp. Married to Leona L. Williams for over 50 years. Worked as an auto technician for the Chrysler Corp and a member of the Automobile Mechanics’ Local 701. Enjoyed traveling, bowling, new adventures and spending time with his family.


Survivors include wife; Leona, son; Robert M. (Samantha) Lewerenz, daughters; Sharon (Mark) Theurer and Sandie (Chris) Beilfuss, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter, many nieces nephews and friends, and sisters; Jacqueline (Wendall) and Susan. Predeceased by parents and brother Melvin.

Visitation from 11 a.m to 1 p.m Friday, August 26, 2016 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108. Private service at a later date.
