Ronald R. Boase

Ronald R. Boase, 73, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 in his home surrounded by is family. Born December 31, 1937 in Rockford the son of Don Young and Grace Nelson. Graduate of West High School and Veteran of the US Navy serving on the USS Randolph. Married his loving wife Sondra J. Guglielmetti on August 22, 1959, she preceded him in death on July 7, 2008. Ron worked for Colonial Bakery for 33 years as a driver and after his retirement he drove for the Meals on Wheels program. He enjoyed any outdoor activity he could do such as, camping, fishing, yard work and walks and was an avid Chicago Bears fan and White Sox fan. His greatest passion was spending quality time with his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his special friend Mary Lee Versack and his sister Nan for all the wonderful care and support they gave to him.Survivors include his children, Rebecca (Michael) Larson, Ronald (Mary) Boase and Jeffrey (Ellen) Boase; grandchildren, Tino, Donnie, John, Megan, Nejia (Andrew) Kinsman,Stephani, Mike and Jeff; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Karter, Ellenie and Madison; sister, Nan (Dennis) Judd and mother-in-law, Merle Guglielmetti. Preceded in death by his wife and sister, Beverly.Memorial service Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel 1860 S. Mulford Rd. with Joe Reynolds officiating. Visitation Tuesday in the funeral home from 1:00 until time of services.
