Ronald W. Dougherty

Ronald W. Dougherty (73) ROCKFORD — Ronald W. Dougherty (73) passed away on July 17th. Born on June 15th, 1941, he was the son of Frank and June Dougherty and had two brothers, Michael (deceased) and David. A kind, loving, and generous man, he lived his entire life in Rockford, working for more than 10 years at Dougherty& Shaw, Inc., and then working as a an award winning real estate professional for more than 40 years. He was married to Christine (Reskis) Dougherty and had five sons, Patrick (deceased), Michael (deceased), Kevin, Kelly and Brian. He is also survived by his brother David and grandchildren Matthew, Christopher, Zachary, Jennifer, Sarah, and Laura. A visitation will be held at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (Mulford Chapel) at 1860 S. Mulford Rd., on Wednesday, July 23rd from 5 to 7pm, with a brief funeral service being held at the same location at 10 am Thursday, July 24, 2014. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. A quiet, gentle, good and honest man, Ron will be greatly missed by his friends and relatives.
