Sara Ann Burkett

Sara Ann Burkett, 35, of Rockford, left us too soon on Thursday, April 14, 2016; surrounded by her loving family. Sara was born in Rockford on April 9, 1981; to parents, Randy and Kathy Burkett. Sara was a giving and selfless woman who loved her family and friends dearly. She loved the outdoors, cooking, waterparks with the kids, and holidays. Sara loved being a lady; having her hair and nails done, and especially she loved to shop. She was a precious gift to her family, and she will be forever remembered as a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Sara’s beautiful heart and smile will be remembered by all who knew her.

Sara is survived by her boyfriend, Josh Smith; children, Nicholas Burkett, Hannah Smith, Donevin Smith, and Kayla Smith; parents, Randy and Kathy Burkett; brothers, Jason (Michelle Gioppo) Burkett, Jamie (Alex Duvall) Burkett, Bill (Desirae) Smith, Jeremy (Amanda) Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

She predeceased by her grandparents.

Sara’s service will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, 2016; at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 3910 N. Rockton Ave., Rockford, IL, 61103. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service at the Funeral Home on Saturday. Memorial donations can be given to the family.
