Shirley A. Walker

Shirley A. Walker, 84, of Rockford passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at Independence Village. Born March 22, 1930, in Worcester, Massachusetts, the daughter of G. Wallace and Greta I. (Eklund) Chellberg. She married Willis E. Walker on December 26, 1953 in Worcester, Mass. Shirley was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church for over 30 years, the Independent Order of Foresters and also volunteered over 5,000 hours with the Rockford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Survived by her husband, Willis; children, Craig A. (Dee) Walker of Marengo and Carol Lagoy of Oriskany Falls, New York; grandchildren, Carmen and Seth and great-grandchildren, Summer Love and Leah. Predeceased by her parents and son-in-law, Ronald.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 South Mulford Road.
