Steven A. Hilton Sr.

Steven Alan Hilton Sr., 72, of Rockford, passed away at home on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

Steven was born on September 13, 1953, in Beloit, WI, the son of Orville and Pearl Hilton. He worked hard his entire life as a dedicated welder at several locations for over 40 years. Steven married Janie S. Johnston in 2011.

Steven is famously remembered as the “Rockford Undertaker” for doing so many great things and impacting the lives of children that often no others would do. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and being involved in his motorcycle social club, always making new friends and memories. Most of all, Steven cherished spending time with his family and loved ones.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Janie Hilton; children, Steven (Lisa) Hilton Jr., Eric Alan Hilton and Angelina Marie Hilton; 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Steven is predeceased by his parents, 2 grandchildren, 1 sister and 2 uncles.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Burial will conclude in Winnebago Cemetery, Winnebago, IL.
