Sylvia Jean Coton

Sylvia Jean Coton, 65, Rockford, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, due to injuries sustained in an accident. She was born on June 24, 1959, in Sterling, the daughter of Cruse and Avalina (Garcia) Guerrero. Sylvia worked as an over the road truck driver for many years. She most recently was a driver for Ecklund Metal Treating. She was a member of First United Church of God. Sylvia was a beautiful person with a strong personality. She was always there to help those in need. She loved life, especially when she was spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and the many friends who loved her.

Survived by her daughters, Angela (Scott Christopher) Coton of Augusta, Maine, Rachel (Ryan) Qualls of Winnetka and Andrea Coton of Rockford; her grandchildren, Paige Renae, Noah Marcus Daniel, Mila Ryan, and Jarris Cruse Christopher; her siblings, Diana (Isidro) Castillo, Valentina Todd, Donna Smith, Armando Ramirez and Sarita Rodriguez. Predeceased by her parents and her brother, Gilbert Guerrero.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at Harvest Time Bible Church, 1802 Dixon Rd., Rock Falls, IL. A second memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Rockford.
