Terry Curtis James

Terry Curtis James, 77, of Greenville, SC, formerly of Rockford, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 3, 2016. Born in Rockford on August 1, 1938; the son of Fred and Daisy (Nelson) James. Married to Karen Shores James. Terry graduated from West High School and attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He worked most of his life in Rockford, retired as District Manager for United American Insurance of Dallas. He was a very active member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. In 2003 he and Karen relocated to their lake house in Central Wisconsin where he became interested in water and land conservation. In 2014, they moved to Greenville, SC, to be closer to family. Survivors include his wife, Karen; five children, Kathy Hawkins (John) of Colorado Springs, CO, Jana Brackett (Chuck) of Rockford, Andrea Sutcliffe (Ken) of Dallas, TX, Jody Sneed (Mike) of Rockford and Scott James (Monica) of Greenville, SC; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1829 N. Rockton Avenue, Rockford with Pastor Eric Lemonholm officiating. Burial in Owen Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.
