Thelma S. Ignacio, 79, of Rockford passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 in her home. Born August 13, 1934, in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of Theodoro and Bonifacia (Saba) Serranilla. She married Dante C. Ignacio Sr. on November 24, 1957 in Pasay City, Philippines. Thelma loved to cook and she made the best eggrolls. She owned Egg Rolls Etc. and was known by many East High School students as the "Egg Roll Lady." She also owned Thelma's Dinette in Dixon. Besides cooking, Thelma had a green thumb and loved gardening. Thelma was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Survived by her husband, Dante Sr.; children, Dothie (Mark) Siebel, Donato Ignacio, Deanie (Jack) Henning, Donna (David) Robbins, Dara (Jessica) Ignacio; grandchildren, Dante III and Skyler Ignacio, Karl, Dustin and Tony (Samantha) Siebel, Hollie Ignacio, and her mother, Laura Ignacio and Ashley Henning; great-granddaughter, Xoe; sisters, Nena Crawford, Violeta Simpao and Teresita (Rady) Santos and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son, Dante Jr. and daughter, Deborah.

Memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4401 North Highcrest Road. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the OSF St. Anthony Center for Cancer Care, 5666 East State Street, Rockford, Illinois 61108, in Thelma's name.
