Theresa A. Fontechia

Theresa A. Fontechia, 89, of Rockford, passed away on April 4, 2007, in Provena St. Anne Center. Born on April 1, 1918, the daughter of John and Emelia Massari Rinaldi. Married Nick D. Fontechia on June 10, 1939. He preceded her in death on May 1998. Theresa retired from Estwing Mfg. Co.. Theresa was a member of St. Anthony of Padua. Theresa enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family in her younger years and later in her life she enjoyed dressing up to go out for dinner. She also enjoyed crocheting and made some very beautiful gifts for her family and friends. Survivors include her children Nick Fontechia, Carol (Robert) Melito both from Rockford; grandchildren Todd (Karen) Fontechia of Clearwater, FL, Troy (Jackie) Fontechia of Brentwood ,TN, Shelie (Roger) Peterson of Rockford, and Nick (Sheri) Sinnaeve of Rockton, Il; great-grandchildren Taylor, Luke and Adam Fontechia, Courtney and Siena Peterson, Isabella , Niko and Samuel Sinnaeve, step-grandchildren Samantha, Andrea and Richard Villito, brother Victor (Frances) Rinaldi Machesney Park, Il, sisters Josephine Campbell, Mary Kinart, Virginia Adams, and Nancy Jackson all from Rockford, IL, brother-in-law Joseph (Mary) Fontechia, sister-in-law Mary (Louis) Gagliano both from Chicago, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Theresa is predeceased by her Parents, husband, brother Tony Rinaldi; and sister Victoria Barnhardt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday April 6, 2007 at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Rd. Burial in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday April 6, 2007 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. The family would like to thank Northern Illinois Hospice and Provena St. Anne Center for all the loving care and help they gave Theresa and her family.
