Theresa Cortese

Theresa "Noni" Cortese, 102, of Rockford, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2012. Born on December 16, 1909 in Italy; the daughter of John and Maria Appolini. She married Angelo Cortese, who predeceased her in March 1976. Theresa worked with Angelo in the grocery business for many years. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to cook. Theresa was also a member of the Venetian Club Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Jean (Bill) Lowman; grandsons, Scott Lowman and Don Anderson; greatgranddaughters, Jennifer (Kurt) Erickson and Kayla Lowman and two greatgreatgranddaughters. Predeceased by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Debbie Anderson; sisters, Carol Rockwood, Betty Buffo and Judy Edwards; brother, Bruno Appoloni. Private family services will be held. Burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
