Thomas James Bouma

Thomas James Bouma, 55, lifelong Rockford resident, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010 in Amberwood Care Center. Born June 23, 1954, son of James B. and Geraldine Borcherts Bouma. Veteran of U.S. Marine Corps. Formerly employed as a painter with Local No.607. Tom was a very loving and giving person who always showed a great deal of compassion toward others. Survivors include his son, Eric Bouma, Rockford; siblings, Linda (Rick) Bates, Monroe Center, Brian (Dawn) Bouma, Rockford, Kenneth (Katherine) Bouma, Rockford and Karen (Jeffrey) Rust, Cherry Valley; grandsons, Andrew Campbell and Benjamin Bouma and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in the Salvation Army Temple, 500 N. Rockford Ave. with Major Everett E. Jordan officiating. Visitation from 6:00 p.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
