Thomas "Tom" M. Richards

Thomas “Tom” M. Richards, 82, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023, in Rockford, Illinois. Born May 30, 1941, Tom was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, serving his country from 1963 through 1968 and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant (E-5). In 1969 he married his best friend and forever partner, “Terry" Andersen. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Therese D.; his daughter Antina (Michael) Pennock; his siblings in law Judy (Norman) Hampson, Kathleen Ann Garnett, Betty (Clyde) Busse, James (Brenda) Andersen, Trudy Andersen, Kristie (Andrew) Duren, Linda (Anthony) Galigo, Mary (Russ) Anderson, and Christopher (Maria) Andersen; numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Maximillin and Helene; his brother Maximillin Richards Jr.; his siblings-in-law Gail (Victor) Fitzjarrald, Larry Garnett, Frank Jr. and Robert Andersen.

A time to celebrate Tom’s life will take place on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108.
