Thone Rattanasavanh

Thone Rattanasavanh, 74, of Rockford died after a brief illness on February 9, 2017 at Virginia Medical Center. Born January 4, 1943 in Savanakhet, Laos. He was a graduate of the Royal Lao Military Academy in 1963, the US Army Ranger Course Class 11-72, US Army Airborne Course 11-72 and earned the rank of Major. Married his wife, Sounthaly Luangphakdy and worked for Johnson Control Inc. in Sycamore as a fabricator/assembler from 1988 until his retirement in 2009. Survivors include his wife; sons Sack Rattanasavanh, Somsanouk Rattanasavanh and Phouthaluk Ounnaraj; 7 grandchildren; brothers, Outhay, Tom and Khounheunh Rattanasavanh; sisters, Douangchai Phoxay and Phongxay Vorakoummanh and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Chemsay Rattanasavanh.
