Tom E. Forsyth

Tom E. Forsyth, 77, of Rockford passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009, at OSF ST. Anthony Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Tom was born on April 29, 1932, in Hoxie, Arkansas, the son of John and Ruby (Johnson) Forsyth. He married Jean Carlson in Freeport in 1959. Tom was a Rockford police officer from 1957 thru 1984, retiring as a Sergeant. He loved spending time with his family house boating on the Mississippi River. Survivors include his wife, Jean; children, Deborah (Russell) Hedrick and Richard Forsyth, both of Rockford; granddaughter, Kelly Hedrick; brothers, Jack Forsyth of Rockford and Bill Forsyth of Arkansas; sisters, Imogene Barnes and Betty (Raymond) Brewer, both of Arkansas and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, a brother, James Forsyth and brother-in-law, Sam Barnes. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM, Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Mulford Chapel, 1860 S. Mulford Rd., Rockford, IL 61108. Visitation from 12:30 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded. To
