Virginia Pauline Simmons

LOVING MOTHER & GRANDMOTHER Virginia Pauline Simmons, 88 of Rockford, IL passed away on March 2, 2008. Born May 30, 1919 in Swifton, Arkansas, the daughter of Tom and Jennie (McDaniel) Hawkins. Virginia married Herschel M. Simmons in Swifton. He predeceased her on November 24, 1985. Virginia worked for National Lock Company as a punch press operator for 21 years. She also worked part time at Chas V. Weise and SwedishAmerican Hospital. Virginia was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include her son Douglas (Shirley) Simmons, daughters Phyllis (Don) Hire and Patricia (Alan) Eickman. Grandchildren Debbie, Theresa, Geofrey, Carl, Paula, William, Melissa and several loving great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, husband and brother Boyce Hawkins. Sisters Ruby Pitman and Helen Hawkins. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 5, 2008 from 5-7 pm in Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Avenue. Interment will be in Swifton, AR. To
