Walter J. Moskal, 61, of Cherry Valley entered eternal life on Monday, May 12, 2014. He was born on January 2, 1953 in Germany, the son of John and Maria Moskal. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1975 with an Engineering Degree and was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity. His 28-year career began at GTE/Automatic Electric, which today has evolved into Lucent Technologies. He was goal-oriented, proud to be the Director of Quality Control. His career path then led him to Actuant. He formed many friendships and wonderful memories during his business trips with colleagues.

Wally was an avid reader, history buff and Star Trekkie. He enjoyed driving his Cadillac and working on his Apple computer. As a gracious host, he will be remembered for his homemade chili eaten during Bears games.

Wally is survived by his wife of 33 years, Christine; son, John; daughter, Mary (Aaron Buckley) Moskal; brother, Vincent (Mary) Moskal; cousins, Toni Bates and Cody Nelson Jr.; mother-in-law, Agnes Yocius; sisters-in-law, Judy (Wally) Lucas and Sr. Elizabeth Ann Yocius; brother-in-law, Dominick (Mary) Yocius and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Moskal; mother, Maria (Al) Bates; brother, David Moskal; father-in-law, Dominick P. Yocius; friend, John Bronczyk and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 6284 Valley Knoll Dr., with visitation starting at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation are appreciated. http://donate.jdrf.org/info/jdrf/.
