Wayne K. Roy

Wayne Kenneth Roy, age 83, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 22, 2026.

Born on August 23, 1942 in Washburn, WI to Albert and Ann (Swiston) Roy, he then lived and worked in Rockford, IL.

Wayne married the love of his life, Kathy Klobucher, on September 13, 1969, and they celebrated 56 years of married life together. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children Deborah (Roy) Gillen, Kenneth Roy, and Judy (David) Thomason, his granddaughters Savannah (Dane Cross) Thomason and Alexa Thomason, his brother Ronald Roy, and many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Albert and Ann (Swiston) Roy, his sister, Mary Ann (Roy) Zar, his brothers Albert Jr and Larry Roy.

Wayne was a long time machinist at Twin Disc, and an avid sports fan. He loved golfing with his golf buddies, the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers.

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 30th, 2026, from 10:00am -12:00pm, with a short memorial service beginning at 12:00pm, located at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Ave. Rockford, IL 61103. Military honors will follow the service to conclude. Cremation rites have been accorded.
