William “Bill” R. Larson, 70, of Cherry Valley, passed away after a long fight with cancer, on November 25, 2025. He was born on September 24, 1955, in Rockford, the son of Robert D. and Jeanine (Youngberg) Larson. He graduated from East High School, class of 1974. He worked as a part owner/manager of steel fabricating at Youngberg Industries in Belvidere. Bill married LaRae Jarl on January 8, 1994.
Bill was a kind and generous man who enjoyed working on projects. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and loved boating on Geneva Lake and in Door County. Bill and LaRae rescued many animals and were both pet lovers. He will be greatly missed and a void that cannot be filled. Bill, you can finally rest and be at peace, thank you for our life together.
He is survived by his wife, LaRae; dog, Bailey; brothers, Tom (Denise) Larson and Mike (Kami) Larson; sisters, Joan (John) Omalley and Lynnett (Todd) Spears; special neighbor, Kevin Corcoran; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with a prayer at 12:45 p.m., at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. Burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary, 111 N 1st St, Rockford, IL 61107.
