Willie L. Dobson, 93, of Rockford, passed away on January 23, 2012 surrounded by his family. Born December 7, 1918 in Lovelady, TX; son of Willie J. and Florence (Robbins) Dobson. Married Sylvia Anderson on September 14, 1943 and spent 68 happy years together. Willie was sent to Rockford to establish Camp Grant in 1940. For this, he was interviewed by the Associated Press. He then served as Staff Sergeant in the South Pacific for the 42 nd and 153 rd General Hospital until 1945. He then returned to Rockford with Sylvia to start a building business. Together they worked as a team developing a successful residential and commercial company, Willie Dobson Home Builder. They developed many loyal business associates and friends. Willie will be remembered for his honesty, humor and quality craftsmanship. He was best known for his zeal as a baptized servant of Jehovah God for the past 59 years. He attended Rockford East Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. He loved sharing the bibles hope of Gods coming Kingdom that would bring the restoration of a peaceful earth. This hope was a great comfort to Willie despite his failing health right up until the time he closed his eyes in death.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Sylvia; sister, Hazel; sisterinlaw, Laverne; brotherinlaw James (Kay) Flodin; several nieces, nephews and greatnieces and greatnephews. Predeceased by parents; brothers, Leonard, Charlie, Paul, Alfred and Guy; sister, Pauline.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 1905 S. Mulford Rd.
