Yvonne JoAnn Parker

Yvonne JoAnn Parker, 87, Machesney Park, was called home on Saturday, July 19, 2025. She was born February 11, 1938, the daughter of Clarence and Grace (Brothen) Hanson. Yvonne married Maynard N. Parker on May 18, 1957, in Viroqua, WI. He passed away on August 29, 2023. She worked as a caregiver for many families in the Rockford area for many years. Yvonne was a longtime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was involved in many activities of the church. During that time she was employed for 17 years as the Volunteer and Hospitality Coordinator. She was a past member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and One in Christ Church. She also worked for Carpenter’s Place and volunteered for many local organizations in the Rockford area throughout the years. Yvonne loved to travel with family and friends and enjoyed her craft group ladies and the lifelong friendships she made.

Survived by her sons, Michael Parker and Kent (Linda) Parker and her daughter, Lorie Parker-Weinrich; her grandchildren, Trevor (Megan) Parker, Megan (Drew) McGuire, Michaela Parker, Chadd Parker, Noah, Seth, Grace and Chloe Weinrich; her great-grandchildren, Graham, Rowan, Fitzgerald, Caden, Emersyn, Caleb, Bobby, Knox, Dylan, Brayden, Maya and Cyrus; her siblings, Richard Hanson, Sonja (Don) Nelson, Robert (Kay) Hanson, Patricia Hanson, Barbara (Larry) Leis and James (Deb) Hanson; many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Maynard; her son, Randy Parker and her sister-in-law, Patty Hanson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural St. with Reverend Rob James officiating. Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday in Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Viroqua, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the church.
